Welcome
Deirdre Campbell-Shaw is from Edinburgh, Scotland. At university she studied languages and music and took singing lessons from Neil Mackie, head of singing at the London Royal College of Music. After leaving university, she moved to Germany and now lives both there and in Scotland. She has been performing in both countries with great success for several years.
What makes her performances of Scottish and other celtic music so popular is that she accompanies her singing on a small harp, which creates a harmonious and relaxing atmosphere.
Her classical repertoire includes many solo soprano parts by e.g. Haydn, Mozart, Bach, Handel and Fauré.
Recordings include Robert Carver's "5-part Mass" and "6-part Mass", "My Heart’s in the Highlands", "Ae Fond Kiss", "O Lusty May" (with the Scottish early music group Coronach) and "Deirdre Campbell-Shaw sings Robert Burns"
She has taken part in several singing master classes with, for example, Emma Kirkby at the York Early Music Festival and with the well-known German early music singer, Barbara Schlick. Deirdre goes regularly to harp festivals in both Germany and Scotland.
Since April 2002, Deirdre has been an elected member of the Scottish Arts Club.
